Digital Channels Bring Home the Bacon

Digital Channels Bring Home the BaconThe digital world continues to see an uptick in online advertising spending, according to the latest eMarketer forecast. In times of economic uncertainty, advertisers realize the internet's pivotal role in everyday life, and are turning over more budget to digital.

Online advertising revenue will surge by 13.9 percent in 2010, followed by double-digit growth every year through 2014, eMarketer predicts. "This trend reflects how most forms of Internet advertising are now seen as more of a ‘sure thing' than most traditional media," David Hallerman, principal analyst at eMarketer says. Advertising surrounds the content that consumers so regularly take in, creating opportunities for custom and integrated content on publishing sites and spin-off micro sites.

Many factors such as the Web's low cost, reliable trackability, and a surge in online video advertising contribute to its wide appeal. With online advertising in the spotlight, advertisers can be frequently seen dishing out more for digital space.
